There is greater benefit if at least two teachers are available to share insights

Student work samples, like medical labs using blood draw or urine samples, provide a window into what is often hidden or invisible.

Each of the work samples includes:

  • the assignment or situation that prompted the student work
  • the student’s response
  • possibly a teacher’s comment or assessment
  1. Match ODD or EVEN question sheets with ODD or EVEN work samples in the Student Work Sample Gallery.
  2. Think through your responses to the question for each odd or even work sample. Sets are similar, but each student response is different. Either set provides intended practice in identifying student strengths and potential needs.
  3. In the Forum, comment on whether or how the Vital Signs of Learning help you identify how well students are able to demonstrate what they know and can do.
